Antique Georgian Oak Chest on Chest

A wonderful antique Georgian oak chest on chest of small proportions. This attractive antique Georgian oak chest has a moulded cornice to the top and an arrangement of two short of three long graduating drawers to the top section, each with brass Georgian design brass handles. The base of the chest on chest has an arrangement of three long graduating drawers with brass handles. The chest on chest is raised on bracket feet. Good colour throughout. Of neat proportions.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks, staining, and fading to the drawer fronts (pictured). There are shrinkage splits to some of the drawer fronts and also to the sides (pictured). The Georgian oak chest on chest remains structurally solid and sound and is of good construction. Evidence of old historic wood worm to the back – this is long gone and has been fully treated as a precaution. A good piece of Georgian country furniture.
