Antique Georgian Mahogany Secretaire Chest of 4 Drawers

A Fine quality Georgian Secretaire Chest of drawers in an amazing condition.

We are delighted to bring to you one of the finest examples of a rare Georgian (circa 1810) 4 deep descending drawer Mahogany Secretaire chest of drawers. This simple yet elegant chest is in an outstanding condition featuring its original beautiful original lightly faded french polished finish with a lovely rich mahogany colour.

The Secretaire chest has the fitted desk drawer over three decending drawers that have mahogany drawer fronts with Ash and Oak linings and original lightly polished solid brass dropper handles. The interior has a baize covered writing surface, 3 drawers with their original bone knobs and 3 large pigeon holes large enough to store some paperwork and even laptops. This beautiful period piece is ideal for the person who needs a desk and storage space without wanting to see office related items.

The chest stands on four bracket shaped splayed feet and has a moulded edge to the top. The finely dovetailed solid Mahogany drawers are in good condition, smoothly operating with little to no drawer wear and are very clean inside, the Secretaire compartment latches effortlessly.

We have just lightly restored, carefully cleaned and waxed this Secretaire chest, maintaining its original patina whilst giving a lovely natural sheen.

Please note; This item is in fantastic condition for its age as shown by the photographs below. Being an antique item of this age there are obviously marks, scratches and dents, however, we feel that these points are which adds to its charm and character to a piece.
