The doors open by key to reveal a single loose fitted shelf. The top section also has two small drawers above three open compartments. The base of the carved oak bureau bookcase has a fall front (complete with working lock and key) that opens to reveal a fitted interior to include pigeonholes, two small drawers, stationery and ink trays, and an inset leather writing surface (losses). The fall front is supported by the two small drawers below. The bureau has an arrangement of five fitted drawers around a central arched compartment. Raised on four square legs. This wonderful antique carved oak bureau bookcase has decorative carved details throughout. A rather pleasing example. Separates into two parts for ease of transport and movement.

CONDITION REPORT:
In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks to the fall front and drawer fronts (pictured). The glazed top remains intact with no apparent cracks or breaks. There are losses and repairs to the inset leather writing surface including rips, tears, and repairs to the wooden surface below. The antique carved oak bureau bookcase remains structurally solid and sound with the drawers running well. The bureau is complete with working locks and key. Separates into two parts for ease of transport and movement.
