Handsome Large Antique English Brass Postal or Letter Scales

Description

A wonderfully decorative pair of antique desk-top postage scales with a stunning heavy cast brass base with foliate scrolls decorating the top and each weight holder having a wonderfully decorative English Tudor Rose adorning the bottom. This set is larger than most of this style, quite imposing.

The pan is engraved " Postal Rates For Letters " followed by the various rates, these rates date the scale to the late Victorian period, around 1897.

Marked "Warranted Accurate", they remain in excellent condition, measuring 8 3/4" x 5 1/4" x 4 1/4" tall.
