Description

A 19th Century Mahogany Table Top Cabinet.

The cabinet with a mould edge top and rounded corners, the top finished with a concave under mould, above a pair of fielded panel doors, complete with lock and key, opening to reveal an interior filled with two short, and three long graduated drawers, each with ebonized knob handles, against the satinwood drawer fronts, chosen to provide dramatic contrasts. The chest with inverted field panel sides, as per the doors, and likewise the rounded lower moulding repeating the form of the top. The whole raised up on a small plinth base.

Height 14 1/2 inches, 37cm.

Width 15 3/4 inches, 40cm.

Depth 9 3/4 inches, 25cm.

Date circa 1850.
