The impressive look of these fire dogs is created by the elements of classical design so typical of the classical Regency era - the scrolled feet, the bulbous base encircled with an egg and dart band, and the spiralled upper part rising to a banded finial.
The fire dogs are quite heavy, a mark of quality and fitness for purpose. They will embellish any fireplace.
