An elegant and well proportioned Regency & later English mahogany twin pedestal extending dining table with two additional leaves. This handsome table features an original early 19th century solid mahogany top with a reeded edge supported on early 20th century turned baluster columns with quadrapartite splayed legs and brass box castors. A traditional runner mechanism in oak gives the table extra strength and support when using the leaves. Fully extended using both leaves it measures just under 9ft x 42 1/8in and will seat 10 comfortably or 12 at a squeeze.In good condition the top with a deep rich colour and good figuring to the timbers, some marks consistent with age and use and slightly darker colour to the leaves as is often the case as these were used less.
