Silver Compact Worshipful Company Of Dyers Crest Geo V Jubilee Marks

A very interesting solid silver Compact. The design of the compact is square with engine turned pattern to both the front and back and placed centrally, which adds to the historical interest of this piece, is a Crest for the ''Worshipful Company of Dyers ''(one of London''s medieval livery companies). It has a lovely fold over catch to secure it remains shut. When opened, a plain polished silver interior is revealed with space for powder (this has a lovely pale gold gilt wash finish) and George V Jubilee Hallmarks are clearly visible for London 1935 with maker''s mark for the silversmith: Saunders Shepherd & Co Ltd. The underside of the lid has a neat mirror in super condition (there are a few very small patches visible, however, the mirror is mainly very clear). There is an engraved date to one side of the mirror ''20th June 1935''.
