Robert Belcher Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
This beautiful vase is a large and wonderfully designed piece has a simple form with a flared foot with a neatly rivetted base rising to a slightly narrower waist and then broadly flaring out to finely curved back in to form the rolled rim. The body is neatly joined together with a dovetailed and soldered joint. Just below the rim there is a wreath of fine silver flowerheads which have been riveted in place with silver pins. To each side, there is a stylish exaggerated handle with hand cut shaped flange mounts. Again, finely riveted in place. The handles have a hammered finish as does the body. All the copper surfaces have a lustrous dark patination. Unmarked A E Jones never stamped his copper items.
Circa 1900
