Description

A petite but exceptionally clean late Victorian silver mounted match striker with hallmarks for Chester 1893 and makers mark for Cornelius Saunders and Frank Shepherd. (The C of the makers mark is slightly rubbed but in this combination I was able to research it.)

The condition of the ribbed crystal base is excellent, as is the silver rim both around the top and inside the match reservoir.

A lovely item from collectible assay office Chester and a good 19thc date.
