Description

A very unusual circa 1900 kurdish hall runner. The ground colour is a kind of a light mahogany and with a glowing jewel-like blue. In fact there are many interesting colours within this runner,yellow,turquoise,pink,leaf green and vermillion as well as the afore mentioned.

The pattern is a kind of herati one but adapted in the kurdish manner to make for a very interesting rug.

Has been hand washed last two images,over 30 images of runner.

All over even pile. Even fringes. Very minor side cord wear and reinforced with conservators tape from rear.

Size is 13 foot 7 inches by 3 foot 6 inches at one end and 3 foot 2 inches at the other end. 414cm X 106cm. At widest points to 98cm. Fringes not measured in size. All woollen hand knotted construction.
