Aramis Antiques has dated this piece to the 1890s.
This seems to be achieved by etching the surface with fine lines and rippling shapes over or into which the coloured glazes have been poured. Around the lower edge are emerald green leaf like blobs which turn into a pinky purple in changes of light. At intervals the green swirls upwards and there it is interspersed with a swirling effect of soft gold, sun yellow, lime green and soft pink. Truly spectacular and reminiscent of wisteria drooping over water. It gives me memories of visiting Monet’s garden at Giverny!! There is a light fitting at the top.
