Description

These gorgeous matching VICTORIAN STAFFORDSHIRE THEATRICAL FIGURES, which are modelled dancing beneath an umbrella date from circa 1860.

They are sumptuously dressed; her in a full length gown of COBALT BLUE and YELLOW OCHRE and him in ORANGE PANTALOONS and JERKIN, GREEN sleeves and a swinging COBALT BLUE cape, all splendidly finished with gilt decoration.

A similar FIGURE is illustrated in A & N Harding's Victorian Staffordshire Figures Volume 1 Page 384 Figure 1498.

These Figures are decorated in very attractive colours and, presumably, by the same Staffordshire Decorator. I'd like to think they have been together since the day they were made.

The condition is good. There are no cracks, chips or restoration.
