Adorable Antique English Bronze Figural Inkwell - Child & Dog C.1860

Description

An absolutely charming figural inkwell featuring a child feeding the dog coming out from the kennel.

Made from solid bronze, it is wonderfully solid and heavy piece beautifully cast detail with various fences, tree trunks and the like acting as a pen rest, compartments for the pen nibs etc.

The kennel is the inkwell with a hinged lid and containing the original ink chamber made from a lead or similar material.

Dating to the Victorian era, around 1860, it remains in superb condition. An extraordinary and highly collectible desk accessory. Measures 7" x 3 1/2" x 4 1/12" tall.
