Our example is very finely knotted with a kind of a safavid floral design,in particular the pair of light red palmette heads either side of the central medallion. (close images of these)
Woven in the persian senneh knot where finer details can be achieved.
Has been hand washed last two images,over 30 images of this rug.
Even pile. There is a crease band wear to upper corner,imaged and within the inner border/edge of mushroom coloured field in two areas some pile loss also imaged. Not obvious but nevertheless the rug has been priced accordingly.
Size is 6 foot 9 inches by 4 foot 10 inches. 207cm X 148cm. At widest points. Fringes not measured in size. Fine kurk velvety wool pile hand knotted onto fine cotton foundations.
Weighs 6.4kg. U.k post £20.
