This unusual INLAID ROSEWOOD TILT TOP DESK/DAVENPORT has an inbuilt mechanism which enables it to be used either with the top flat, ideal for a Laptop, or sloped for writing. It dates from circa 1900 and the number 7994 is stamped on the side of the drawer.
There is a button on the back of the DESK which, when pressed, allows the top to rise at the back and the stationery compartment to open. It is lowered by pressing the button again.
The cupboard base unlocks and drops forward to access two shaped shelves.
The DESK has a green, tooled leather top and a polished back so it appears attractive from al angles.
