Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Navette or marquise rings from the Edwardian period feature an elongated, oval silhouette terminating in points at top and bottom. Popularised around the turn of the 20th century, this style was designed to flatter the hand by spanning the length of the finger.

Edwardian jewellers frequently combined 18ct yellow gold bands with platinum tops to secure diamonds. The development of platinum working allowed for delicate, openwork settings and fine milgrain edging without compromising structural integrity.

Authentic Edwardian pieces often exhibit hand-cut gemstones, such as old mine cut or rose cut diamonds, featuring asymmetrical facets and small culets. The presence of a thin platinum layer fused over gold, alongside hand-applied milgrain ornamentation, is characteristic of the period.

An Edwardian marquise ring functions effectively as a standalone statement piece or as an alternative engagement ring. The neutral tones of platinum and diamonds allow it to complement both modern minimalist wardrobes and layered antique jewellery sets.

Clean antique diamond rings using warm water, mild soap, and a soft-bristled brush to remove dust from behind the settings. Ultrasonic cleaners and harsh chemical solutions should be avoided, as older settings may have delicate metalwork or foiled backings.
