A superb Art Nouveau silver trinket dish / tray. The dish is decorated with wonderful asymmetrical lines, flowing and sinuous patterns including wonderful shapes, peacock birds and flowers, so synonymous with art nouveau design. Clear hallmarks are visible on one side for the Birmingham Assay office with a date mark for 1901, Lion Passant indicating the finest sterling silver and the maker''s mark for the renowned maker Henry Matthews.
A superb dish; nicely sized (13.2 cm x 6.8 cm) and in super condition. Wonderful for a collector of art nouveau silver!
