Primitive Six Plank Coffer C.1640

17th century
Description

Primitive mid 17th.c. oak six plank coffer c.1640. Very solid and sturdy, constructed from six thick oak boards, could be used as a seat with storage. With simple moulded edges to the lid and chip carved detail repeated on the front. Superb original iron strap hinges and a large lock plate. Shaped detail to the feet. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
