Mytton Antiques - Jerrard Nares has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
The pricket sticks with a candle spike, above the circular top, decorated with a lobed rim. The baluster and vase shaped stems, decorated with rising leaves, and finished with a ring socle. The triangular bases, bowing ou t in reeded scrolls, to the scrolled feet. The whole with the original cream painted ground whilst the carved elements are gilted.
Date circa 1780.
