Description

A 19th Century Mahogany Bookcase.

The bookcase with a pierced scrolling flower brass upstand, above the rectangular top, finished with concave under moulding. The frieze mounted with a pair of brass classical lyres to the centre, and flower head paterae to each end. The vertical facing rails mounted with rising and falling leaf brackets, enclosing the adjustable ratchets for the pair of shelves. The whole on a concave moulded plinth, repeating the form of the top. The sides mounted with a pair of leaf decorated carrying handles.

Date circa 1840.
