A superb rare quality 19th century French bronze and marble bust sculpture by the French artist Eutrope Bouret. Titled ETOILE DU BERGER ( Evening Star)

This sculpture was cast by Pinedo, PARIS. It is raised on a bronze and marble base with a plaque ' Etoile Du Berger', Exp Des Beaux-Arts. Signed in the bronze Bouret with foundry stamps to both sculpture and base. As can be seen in the images attached.

This sculpture is of exceptional quality with a wonderful two tone patination.

EUTROPE BOURET

Born on the 16th April 1833 - Died 1906 Paris

He was a student of Louis Buhot. He exhibited at the Salon from 1875-1903.

Best known for his Neoclassical bronze pieces, he focused on historic themes and mythology.

His works were of exceptional quality, using the most skilled foundries to produce wonderful objects.
