An attractive 19th century antique beech and elm smoker’s bow chair or captain’s armchair. The smoker’s bow chair has a decorative shaped back rest and shaped, scroll arms raised on turned spindle supports. The solid elm seat has good grain pattern and is raised on four turned legs with a double H stretcher support.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks to the seat and arms (pictured). There is an honest, historic repair to one of the arms (pictured) – this does not affect the integrity of the chair. The smoker’s bow chair remains structurally solid and sound with good tight joints.
