Description

A particularly good antique mahogany metal bound trunk on wheel base. The trunk has a heavy mahogany lid that opens to reveal a spacious interior. The trunk has iron straps to each of the corners and the original drop handles to either side. To the front is a heart shaped brass escutcheon. The trunk is sat on a plinth base with wooden wheels. Separates into two parts. A rather wonderful piece of antique furniture with plenty of character and charm.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and staining to the top and front (pictured). The mahogany metal bound trunk remains structurally solid and sound and sits neatly into the base. There appears to have been a candle box and possibly other compartments to the interior – these are no longer present. Overall, a rather lovely piece of furniture.
