Fine Old Sheffield Plated Tankard C1780

Description

This fine tankard is made of Old Sheffield Plate and dates to c1780 - 1800. It bears no makers mark as is usual. It has visible internal and external seams. Featuring a turned wooden base and a heart shaped thumb piece. The tankard has a false bottom to the interior and as a consquence holds a little bit over a pint.

This tankard has a clean plated interior and is watertight.

The condition is very good overall with no major dings or dents. Slight copper bleed to the raised edges and general very slight age related wear.
