Description

A neat pair of 19th century antique smoker’s bow chairs or captain’s armchairs. The smoker’s bow chairs have shaped back rests and turned out arms raised on turned upright supports. The solid seats are raised on four turned legs with decorative turned stretcher supports. Both chairs have an attractive light colour. Finished with a fresh coat of natural wax.

CONDITION REPORT:

In good antique condition throughout with some signs of age. There is surface wear in places including age-related marks and staining to the seats (pictured). There is an old historic repair to the back of one chair using an iron brace (pictured). Both the smoker’s bow chairs remain structurally solid and sound with good tight joints. Finished with a fresh coat of natural wax.
