Gilded Marble Top Console Table C.1930

1920 - 1940
Description

Unusual gilded marble top console table c.1930. Thick and well figured red marble top with an inverted breakfront front edge and rounded ends. On a exuberantly carved giltwood base with neo-Classical scrolling acanthus detail. Original gilding with some minor chips and rubbed through in places to reveal the red ground below. Small repair to the rear right hand corner of the marble and the tip of the right hand leg, otherwise very good original condition.
