Antique silver Waltham Bond Street pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, Bond Street grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 21,217,033 which dates it back to 1917. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has some surface marking and unevenness.

The watch measures 49mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1920 together with a case maker’s mark for the Dennison Watch Case Company. Dennisons produced cases for various watch makers. The case has a small bruise to the side, and some unevenness to the hinged case back.

The glass lens has some small marks but not too detrimental at all.

The white enamel dial looks good to the naked eye. If viewed closely, there are a couple of hairline cracks, one to the outer edge between 11 and 12 and one just below the sub seconds dial. Original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with a single silver chain, 32cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. There is also a silver fob awarded for the 1910-11 St Giles Club 3rd Whist.

The watch and chain will be sent in a new presentation box.
