Lovely large pair of solid hallmarked silver toast racks.
Assay mark is for Calcutter in India with the date letter for 1946.
Makers mark for Hamilton & Co, 7 Court House Road, Calcutter. Robert Hamilton, a British silversmith opened his first shop in Calcutter in 1808 and was in business there until 1973. Also had shops in Bombay, Delhi Simla and two shops in Britain in London and Cheapside.
A good size pair easily used today. Plain style with a good weight.
Each measure 3 1/4 inches 8.3 cm long, 3 1/2 inches 9 cm tall to the top of the handle and 2 1/2 inches 6.4 cm wide.
The combined weight is 203.5 grams.
Excellent condition, no damage or repairs.
Will be delivered in a gift boxed.
