Mappin & Webb Silver Cigarette Case Birm' 1936

A handsome heavy gauge solid silver Cigarette Case, clasped and hinged on one side, when the button is pushed the case flips open. The exterior of the case is decorated with an engine turned design to front and back. When opened a gilded interior is revealed with an original elastic band for holding in the cigarettes. The clear hallmarks are visible on the inside of the lid for the Birmingham Assay Office with a date mark for 1936 and Lion Passant indicating sterling silver. The silver maker''s mark is also visible for the renowned silver makers: Mappin & Webb.
 
 
 
A good solid case in heavy gauge silver and in very good antique condition. (There are some superficial scratches to the outside surface and a couple of slight impressions, commensurate with the age and use of the item which we mention for accuracy.)
