Description

This unusual and rather charming Art Nouveau solid silver desk thermometer was made by J. Batson & Son is dated London 1903. The shaped elongated frame with an embossed silver front surrounding the original brass thermometer.

Hallmarks:

HBA for J Batson & Son (Henry John Batson & Albert Edward Batson)

London Assay.

Lion Passant.

Date letter "h" for 1903.

Condition:

Silver frame in very good condition.

Velvet back and easel in very good condition.

Thermometer not working.

Dimensions:

Height: 18.5cm / 7.4 inches.

Maximum width: 9cm / 3.4 inches.
