1920s Brass Desk Lamp with Shell Shaped Shade

Description

Circa 1910-1940 a completely original brass desk lamp with a large shell shaped shade and good quality gooseneck bendy arm.

Straightened out the lamp meaures 63cm in height, 42cm from the base to the bottom of the lamp holder. The shade is 18.5cm in length and the base of the lamp is 15cm in diameter.

The bendy arm or 'gooseneck' is of better quality than we have had before, and the base still has the original weight inside.

There are a couple of tiny misshapen areas in the brass at the very back of the base - see photo 4 - this may have been caused during manufacturing when the inside weight was added. Otherwise the lamp is in very good condition and it has been polished but not lacquered and rewired to UK specifications by a qualified electrician.
