Gents antique silver Omega trench watch, c1914.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Omega name and the serial number 4,637,663 dates it back to 1914 or thereabouts. The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover which has writing scratched into it with a date of 1940 and probably details of the owner at the time, although difficult to read. The same details appear inside the back cover.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is silver and there are Continental hallmarks inside both of the case backs, together with the early Omega logo. The case is in lovely condition for such an early piece, just some unevenness to the hinged back but not too detrimental at all.

The acrylic lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has a few hairline cracks but they are faint. The hands are period replacements and of the correct style for the age of the watch.

A new leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
