Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1880s.

It would be wonderful to find out more, is it one a few examples specially commissioned by the Royal Household on behalf of Queen Victoria as a special gift? Or was it the equivalent of a souvenir sold in the Royal Borough of Windsor?

The top is mounted with a thick cast silver plated castellated rim which is where the circular lid rests which is mounted with a tower with the flag pole on top which acts as the handle to remove the lid. The interior has a ceramic creamware liner, undamaged but with age crazing.

There is a design registration number of 30605 dating it to 1885, Victorian in era. Quite exceptional in superb condition measuring 10 1/2" tall to top of flag pole and a rim diameter measuring 6".
