Cranberry glass is a red-tinted blown glass produced by adding gold chloride to molten glass. It became widely popular during the nineteenth century in Victorian Britain for decorative tableware, including biscuit barrels, jugs, and vases.

These items were crafted from hand-blown lead glass coloured with gold salts to achieve the distinct cranberry hue. The metal mounts, lids, handles, and bases were commonly made from electroplated nickel silver (EPNS) or sterling silver.
