Army Road Signal Oil Lantern

1920 - 1940
Description

Circa 1940 - A completely original and unrestored old army road signal oil lamp with the original metal signs. The signs are stored in the pockets at the sides of the lantern and slot into the illuminated screen when required.

The red glass signals STOP and the arrows show which direction vehicles should travel without requiring any sound.

The lamp measures 26cm in height without the handle included, and it is 15cm x 13cm in shape.

The oil lamp inside has signs of rust on the container, but is complete. When lit, the two flaps at the sides lift up and the necessary signal can be displayed.
