This Regency brass inlaid side cabinet was made circa 1820.

The cabinetmaker had selected rosewood that was the height of fashion for wealthy families to show their wealth by displaying their ability to able to own a piece made of the timber.

It also has brass inlaid stringing another very fashionable feature of the Regency period.

The pair of cupboard doors are lined in pleated yellow silk.

The cabinet stands on splay legs.
