This magnificent Qashqa'i - Shekarlu rug contains a wealth of symbolism - amazing detail and quality. The Shekarlu tribe ranked up amongst the best of the Qashqa'i weaving sub-tribes (taifeh) and this fabulous rug certainly testifies to that.

Made during the second half of the nineteenth century, the rug is in overall very good condition with minor signs of wear, particularly in the upper and lower borders. The main ivory border design is typically Shekarlu and to sit and look at this rug for as long as you like, you will always find something new going on!
