Large Victorian Three Drawer Telescope with Cased Sun Eyepiece C.1860

Description

A most handsome and fairly large pocket or field hand-held telescope dating to around 1860, Victorian in era. The telescope is clad in a black leather covering and the brass has been professionally re-polished to gleam.

The lens has a brass cover and the eye piece has a little integrated shutter to protect the eye hole.

This one comes with an eye-piece which I believe to be for use while viewing the sun, complete with it's original case.

In fine working condition the telescope measures 10" when fully closed and extends to 28 1/2".
