A Lovely 19th Century Childs desk.
We believe from our research that this desk was made by the maker George M Hammer & Co Strand London who were English furniture makers in the 19th-20th century, most known for making school furniture.

This desk and chair combination has a lift up davenport style lid with storage ideal for keeping paperwork, stationary or even in todays world laptops. The desk features the ability to move the desktop backwards and forwards for comfort adjustment and ease of access and has a book stand to the rear. This desk is perfect for a child's bedroom for school work or could even be used as a small desk for an adult with a sloped top making it good for working on a laptop. As this desks previous life was in a school, it does have markings and names on the top surface as shown in the pictures. We feel that this gives great character and charm.

We have sympathetically restored this item maintaining original patina by just carefully waxing this item to enhance the finish and preserve it for many years to come.
Please note; This item is in great condition for its age as shown by the photographs, however, being an antique item of this age there may be minor blemishes here and there which we feel adds to its originality and heritage of the piece.
