Description

A gorgeous opulent Victorian ring with a rectangular cushion-shaped diamond mounted in a crown setting on top of a shining enamel dome. The split shank frame has lovely looped shoulder detail and decorative scrollwork above and below the dome.

There is a foreign hallmark on the outside of the ring, as is common with continental European pieces, the ring tests as 18-carat gold.

In very good antique condition; under magnification it is possible to see a couple of tiny chips to the diamond edges and some flaws where the enamel may have been repaired toward the centre but these are not visible to the naked eye.

Size K (UK), approx 5.25 (US). The enamel measures 1cm across and the top of the ring sits approx 7mm above the finger.
