Description

A wonderful old storage-bag woven by the Zaggar Mengal Baluch tribes in the Sarawan area of Baluchistan around the early part of the 20th century. In great condition with magnificent braided handles, the front and back of this charming bag are similar in design - superb flatwoven, weft-float brocade throughout. Note the use of cowry shells at the top opening of the bag - symbols of good luck.

Size: 76cm x 51cm (2' 6" x 1' 8").
