Description

A classic signet-style antique ring in solid 18-carat rose gold set with a polished bloodstone. The bloodstone (also known as heliotrope) has an almost black background with grey veining and the beautiful rust-coloured spots which give the stone its name.

Hallmarked for Birmingham 18-carat gold; the date letter has been lost, possibly when the ring was resized at some point in its history.

The ring is in very good antique condition; the bloodstone has some surface abrasions and the gold shows surface wear commensurate with its age.

Size: 5 and a quarter (US), K (UK). The stone measures approx 13 x 10mm and the top of the ring sits around 3mm above the finger.

Weight: 3.6g.
