'F E Jamieson' An Original Scottish Highland Loch Landscape Oil Painting For TLC
Brief Description:
On offer is a marvellous original Oil on Canvas Landscape Painting depicting a Scottish Loch with towering and Majestic Munro Mountain Peaks.
To all intent and purposes, this piece looks lovely and it can easily be displayed in its current condition, however, upon closer inspection, there are visibly 4 or 5 very poor areas of some previous restoration that would benefit from further restoration or Tender Loving Care to make perfect.
Painted by the top Scottish Highland Landscape artist: 'Francis E Jamieson' (1895-1950).
Artist Francis E. Jamieson was born in England in 1895 but is celebrated for his depictions of Scotland. Travelling the country on vacation, Jamieson became inspired to reproduce the majesty of the mountainous Highlands territory and its many lochs. A prolific painter, Francis Jamieson sold enough paintings to become popular, and he was hired to detail furniture with his scenes. He was eventually forced to use pseudonyms to market his work, unbeknownst to his employers. The artist Francis E. Jamieson worked with oil and watercolour, but the majority of the Highland pieces were oil. F.E. Jamieson's landscapes for sale demonstrate his Victorian style, but the artwork's key features are multicoloured skies bursting with light and power over gentle bodies of water. The images so appealed to the public that around 1920, Ajelli and Company of London reproduced them as postcards.
The artist's works are very popular, with similar pieces that do not require restoration selling anywhere from 1200-3000.
