Description

A lovely French Art Deco patinated spelter sculpture of a prancing horse , set on a marble base. Signed in the marble C.H.VALTON.

This French sculpture is in very good condition with a nice rich patination and fine detail.

Charles Valton ( 1851- 1918 )

Born in Pau in the Pyrenees but raised in Paris.

He specialised in animal models and was admitted to the Beaux - Arts academy becoming a student of Antoine Louis Barye and Emmanuel Fremiets.

His works are always of high quality and with great attention to detail.
