A charming mid to late Victorian fruitwood child’s chair, c1880, sometimes known as a child’s correction chair. The seat and back are caned and in perfect condition. The fruitwood chair frame has a beautiful light warm colour and patina. The cross bar, held in place by two finials, cannot be detached but moves from side to side - it served both as a toy, and as a restraint on the occupant! A very lovely and curious item.
