Antique silver Omega pocket watch for Sanders & Co.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Omega logo and it is all protected with an inner dust cover.

The watch measures 47mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are Continental silver marks inside the case backs, together with the early Omega logo. The bezel has a small “ding” but other than that, the front and sides are in good condition. The hinged case back has some unevenness and surface marking.

The watch glass has very minor marking, nothing serious at all. There is a thin line running across it, probably a manufacturing fault, but not too noticeable at most angles.

The dial is signed Sanders & Company, London, they would have been the original retailer of the watch. Sanders & Company was founded in 1905 by Sidney Sanders and William Metherell with the opening of their first shop in Streatham High Road. Mr Sanders left the company to develop rival chain James Walker in 1920 and the two companies later merged in 1969.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
