Description

A very versatile solid silver guard chain which can be worn on its own - single, doubled or tripled - or as a sautoir-style necklace with a pocket watch, locket or pendant hung from the clasp at one end. Formed of unusual cable/belcher links which alternate between plain shiny loops and flattened links with a crisp stripe pattern.

Marked "VM 800". 800 grade silver was the standard across most of Europe in the late Victorian-Edwardian period when this chain likely was made.

In excellent antique condition, with fully functional clasp. Please note the cross pendant pictured is available separately and not included in this listing.
