A truly delightful early Victorian figured walnut brass mounted box dating to c1850. Possibly originally intended as a glove box, it would be handy for jewellery or specially treasured items. The colour and figuring of the lustrous walnut top and sides and the pierced brass banding create an interesting and luxurious piece. It comes with a key (not pictured) and the lock works perfectly. It is lined in deep red silk. In beautiful condition.
