He served in Artists’ Rifles in World War I. He was elected RBA in 1914. In 1921 Cooper’s picture London from an Airship was a notable feature of the RA Summer Exhibition and three years later he won an Hon. Mention at Paris Salon. Also showed Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, ROI, RI and Goupil Gallery. King George VI and Sir Winston Churchill were among Cooper’s portrait subjects. Lived in London and was a member of Chelsea Arts Club.
